Hi guys,

Question to anyone from the Vaudreuil area.

Originally from Ontario and moved to Vaudreuil about 8 years ago. Since I have been in the area I have had to go to Ontario to hunt small game, forget deer as the non resident license is just so expensive.

Does anyone know of any areas nearby where one can hunt small game and even deer if at all possible?

Thanks in advance.

good question! I'm sure some folks that know the area will chime in. Just to let you know, I'm watching the back door. ("where can I target shoot on Crown land?":p ;)

Just to clarify, I have been hunting in Ontario. I don't know the area (Quebec) nor do I know any hunters. Seeing as I am only an hour or so away from my spot in Ontario, I hunt there as a non-resident. Being a non-resident in Ontario the deer tags are very expensive.

South of the river(s), you have a vast array of choices which include hunting on private land and - oh yeah, nothing else. So, start knocking on doors, put feelers out with coworkers, anything that you can do to get the word out that you are looking for places to hunt. North, you can take the easy route (for small game, at least) and buy a day, weekend, or season pass at one of the provincial wildlife reserves. Barring that, if you travel far enough to the north, you will hit crown land - just make sure you're not on/in a pourvoirie.

looch is right, almost all private so you're going to have to do some asking around.Deer hunting on the south shore is pretty much a joke these days,4 or 5 guys per 50 acre lot makes it really tough to see any daytime action. For small game I would hit the park,I have had good success in Papineau Labelle and with the mild weather we are having it should be a great late season. There are a few guys leasing out land on kijiji and lespac if you want to avoid the door to door route.
Good luck.
