Hi, a local guy has some of these scopes new out of the box for $320 he also has Bushnell Banners 3-9 X 40 for $80.. I need a scope to mount on my 270.. Its a single shot, so I am looking for 1 shot/1 hit for hunting out to 175 yds max. Usually, my hunting success is right when the sun has dropped to just below the horizon.. so I need something that I can sight through when light conditions are sub-optimal. Let me know if you have heard any reviews of these Vector scopes.

cheers

i don't think its a fair comparision. bushy banner is a piece of crap. if your on a budget a bushnel 3200 in 2x7 0r 3x9. if you have a bigger budget my favorite is a 2x7 leup vx11. its light and good for about 300 yds further than i want to shoot.

thanks. I spoke to the guy who has these things and he said that the vector is a military scope that has passed military testing for use on the 50 cal BMG, but I just can't find anything on this thing. I did check cabellas catalogue and they have the Bushnell 3200 for around $239 seems like not bad value although I am not crazy about the MX reticle. I really like the mil-dot, but bushnell has the 3200@ $339 with the DOA 600 reticle which seems very impressive: some info here http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/showthread.php?t=45580

The thing with this Vector deal is that its Illuminated Mil dot for slightly less than Bushnell's 3200 600 DOA .. seems like I am getting some extra value with the illuminated aspect, even though I am not exactly sure what that entails and what the quality of these Vector scopes will be. Isn't their anyone from the military on CGN who has some experience with these things.

I have a couple of Vector Optics scopes, never mounted, I do not know how well they work, however you can buy them on ebay for less than $200.00 U.S. and they seem to be of average Chinese quality. I doubt they will stand up to a .50BMG for long. I bought a Konus M30, much better scope, much better optics and decent Chinese quality and a lifetime guarantee. Konus M30 series seems to be getting reasonably good reviews. Vector Optics will likely turn out to be another sad Chinese scope although their 1x4 seems to be pretty decent for the price.

Thanks for the response garandg. I spent a lot of time searching and reading online forums where vector scopes were discussed, and its sounds like the quality is poor and in the case where a scope is purchased from a 3rd party, warranty would be tough to get. I am thinking I will go with the Bushnell 3200 with DOA 600 reticle, at least with Bushnell if I have a problem I know they will back up their product. Is their anyone in Canada who distributes the Konas

I am south of the border from you so I do not knowof any Canadian distributors for Konus, you may want to call their office in Florida and see if they can help you out.
