Venison recipe needed!

use any of your favorite beef roast recipes ;)

dry white wine adds a lot of flavor and makes the gravy very tasty

Whatever you choose, just DON"T OVER COOK IT!!!

i think over cooking turns most people off of wild game rather than the taste. i always hear people complaining that deer meat is tough and dry but little do they know that whoever cooked it is just an idiot ;) most of my roasts turn out juicy and tender like a $30 steak.

Marinate in whatever you want, bake at 250F for .......depending on wieght, but WRAP THE VENISON IN BACON for cooking. mmmmmmmbacon. Makes an excellent meal.
Let us know if you git some because of all these recipes!:D

OK, It's on! Things got pushed back to tonight but she's on her way over now. Thanks gatehouse, I'm using this recipe (or close to it) http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=28503 because the meat size is similar to mine. My recipe also includes lots of butchers bacon :D:D I'll have pics and update for tomorrow.

so I put potatoes, bacon, onion in a roasting pan with oil, some water, rosemary, pepper and garlic powder. That's baking covered at 350. After 20mins I'll sear up the venison (which I marinated) in a pan and throw it on top of the taters to cook for a few minutes. there's gonna be some guess work though!! I dunno how long to cook the venison for. I'm thinkin 10mins.

I marinated it in soy, worchestershire, brown sugar etc, she's here...

Wow, that went really well. The deer was PERFECT (almost, it was perfectly rare-medrare when it came out but it cooked a bit on it's own after coming out of the oven). Not bad at all for wingin' it.

The best part is I have deer and potatoes to eat for the rest of the week!! :D:D:D:dancingbanana:

SO, you got another date with her?
As in tonight? Tonight was the result of a)her friend from out of town being here on Friday and Amphib and I being half way to Kamloops without enough time for me to get back for the date. I'm sure there will be another date. As I said, things went well (I never arrange the next date at the end of one. I'll call her this week).
