...on my SKS. I want one; it's already such a hack job I might as well, hey? I think it might look alright too. Has anyone done such a thing?
What do you guys think the best way to go about making/buying one is?

How would one get it past the front sight hood? Okay, better question: How can I get the front sight hood off and still retain the ability to put it back on?
 
I've got one that I can sell you, already installed on a gas tube for that matter :D It's one of the handguard + shell deflector ones though, not just your basic metal vented guard. If you don't need the shell deflector, you can always just unbolt it from the handguard. It looks like this;

The gas tube has a bit of rust in it from not being cleaned properly, but I'll give it a good scrubbing & greasing before I ship it if you end up wanting it. PM me if interested.
 
Now you've got me. I have honestly never heard of anyone putting a type of shroud over the barrel of thier SKS. However, with the plethora of stuff out for them, I wouldn't be surprised if they exist.

Never seen one of them for the SKS.
I guess it would kind'a give it a Sten look...not sure if that is a good thing.

fix the www and go here. It about the only universal shroud i can find; other sites have the same one.

I think it might look interesting on an sks...ill photoshop a pic sometime to preview it...
