I shoot a Gamo 1250 in 177.I have killed 2 young Coyotes with it.Very accurate.Problem with it is it takes 57 lb.of pressure to #### and it weighs over 11 lbs.with the scope.I also have to buy heavy pellets for it to quiet it down .At around 1100 fps it is fine and more accurate.Have problems here in the Okanagan with birds eating the crops so get lots of shooting practice My Gamo was made in Great Britain.

If you are so adamant about "I absolutely don't want anything made in China" then why are you probably using a modem, keyboard and mouse that are made in China?
well yea, by insinuating that some of the most knowledgeable airgun smiths I have ever known are supposedly not a reliable source of airgun info? Your opinion is straight up WRONG, its like saying "In my opinion the moon doesn't exist" you can say it all you want, but its a flat out lie
the senior members of CAF are extremely knowledgeable, and many of the members make INCREDIBLE custom made guns and parts, there are very few idiots on that forum, and many that get there are dealt with quickly... maybe you were one of them? you seem bitter
I too wish the name calling would stop! This "was" my post and there is some wonderful information here for a new air gunner. Please, don't hijack my post for personal agendas. I'm in my 40's, got my first airgun at 10, or 11. Still have it, and my 10 year old loves it now too. I lean towards springers, and have 4 or 5. The fun never wears out, and some winters I have set up a range in the basement. Awesome, quiet, cheap, and recoil-less shooting fun! It got boring with my fav. (I can knock the eraser off a pencil consistently in my 30 ft range), so I acquired a pistol...being the world's worst shot with a handgun, it's certainly cheap n' easy to hone the skills.
My Dad bought a side lever .22cal a couple summers ago at a flea market near South Hampton/Port Elgin. It's made in china, and sub 500fps. It's a hoot to shoot! I have a BAM .22cal springer too(break barrel), and it's also a hoot.
Air rifles don't get the same attention as powder burners but they should. Shooting principles remain the same, and ammo is as cheap as can be.

It does seem most are made in China but that is not always a bad thing, it has helped keep the prices down. There are some unique air rifles that aren't made any where else like the QB57. The Chinese have also made some excellent copies of Euro guns such as the Bam B50/51, B40, B30 and the QB78/79 among others. Before I bought the B50 I was looking at a few Euro guns in the $600.00 range so I searched "problems with" the guns and was amazed at the volume of results. The decision to pay $500.00 for the gun and pump wasn't that hard to make and since then one of the previous rifles I was considering has turned out to occasionally out Chinese the Chinese. This is my opinion of course, my choices are made with the knowledge I have gained working on and repairing my own and my friends airguns so if smoothing is necessary I don't even blink anymore.
