I love my accurate bolt action 22s but I would like to get at least one MOA accurate semi in 22lr. I used to own a 10-22 and a 512 wmr and that about sums up my experience with semi autos. The rifle will be used for fun target shooting but also hunting. These are some of my criteria:

- looking for “out of the box” MOA accuracy at 50 yards; I am not planning to assemble the rifle out of aftermarket parts...
- 22lr
- would like to stay around 6 to 7 pounds or less, before optics (so I could hunt with it)
- rifle will be scoped so open sights aren’t required

So far I have been able to narrow it down to Volquartsen Lightweight or Superlight series but I am open to any other ideas you might have. If you have experience in the field of MOA accurate semis please chime in. Thanks!

You're very welcome, I bought a Stainless 20 inch Kidd heavy barrel for my Deluxe Sporter 10/22. It is crazy accurate.
If I need another barrel, I know right where to go.

Look down the Rimfire forum column and have a peek at the Ruger VLEH Target Tactical deal at IRunGuns Canada: $515 + tax + shipping.

They have them in stock in the Edmonton area and will be shipping out January 2nd.

For what you want it for, that rifle will do the job quite nicely -- at a FANTASTIC price, too.

That should be accurate right out of the box, another option is the dar22 for $699 or the upcoming tuff22 both are made by dlask arms.

Yes, the Dlask are interesting as well.

But the VLEH is cheaper -- and comes with a stock 4lb-pull target trigger.

One in action at 200 yards: h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxENqNnQILE . Another at 300 yds (actually a VLE Talo but closely related): h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAkOzr6cDx0 . 400 yds: h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jylb-TpPXY . Oh, what the heck, lets go with the VLEH at 500 yds: h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31_vucEt61c .

The proof is in the (lead) pudding.
