At IWA 2026, Kaya stopped by Armsan to take a look at their AK-pattern 12 gauge shotgun — a Vepr-12 style platform currently adopted by elements of the Turkish Armed Forces.
This magazine-fed 12 gauge is built on a classic AK-style operating system and has reportedly received a NATO stock number within Turkish military inventory.
Key details:
• 12 gauge, box magazine fed
• AK-style gas-operated platform
• Adjustable gas system
• Barrel lengths from 40cm to 71cm
• External and internal choke thread options
• Compatible with Vepr-pattern magazines
• Armsan proprietary magazine included
According to Armsan, the platform underwent extensive environmental testing including extreme heat, extreme cold, dust, vibration, and salt exposure. The company reports 5,000-round endurance testing during development.
The shotgun is currently used for close-quarters applications and has reportedly seen increased interest for drone defense roles.
U.S. importation is uncertain due to sporting configuration requirements, but Armsan indicates interest in working with potential partners.
