Thanks diopter. That's a great aid for those with the old Vergueiros. The fellow makes it look pretty simple.

Those bolts gave the Portuguese so many problems that the soldier in the field wasn't permitted to disassemble them.

Surplusrifles.com has a great write up and pics on how to do it as well.

They are fantastic rifles. The bolts are works of art by their master machinists.

The unmodified 6.5 in the video was amazing. I have been looking for one of those for a long time.
