I got a chance to hold one of their take down rifles today, and i have to admit, it was a pretty damn nice firearm. Anyone with any knowledge of these? I did some research and it looks like they are a major player in the French firearms industry. I was just wondering about accuracy, if it has shot repeatability after being disassembled a few times etc etc.

Years ago, infact I had long since forgotten the name. They were good, never quite to a Heym or Francotte to me, but then again you didn't see many. Accuracy? Nothing I ever wrote home about, but surely minute of deer on the rifles.

Well,

I do have one over under shotgun in Lebanon. Family heirloom.

Its a Saint-Etienne Verney-Carron. I have to say, so far, I have not yet found a shotty that does the job as nice smooth and confortable.

The gun is well finished and the barrels are marvelously well made for the year.

Well I've got the chance to give it a wringing out at the range. I'll do a report on it when I am done. I'm hoping to get time in the next week or two.

The Verney-Carron family has been making guns for over 350 years. We carry their line of double rifles, which have a reputation of being amongst the most accurate on the market.

They also have a custom shop (Paul Demas), that builds beautiful African calibered double rifles (470 NE, 500 NE, 450-400, 577 NE and 600 NE). We have a few of these on order and should start receiving a few in the next couple of months.
