Versa-Max and general semi questions: Rifled barrel? Slugs?

I am looking into the Remington Versa-Max as my first foray into the semi-auto shotgun world and have a couple questions about it. I will be selling a couple shotguns to cover the cost and want to cover all my bases

1. Can I shoot slugs through it and does it make a difference with the cycling?
2. Do they make a rifled barrel for the VM? I looked on the Remington website and could not find one.
3. Is the VM easy to maintain?
4. Do semis cycle reloads well or does the base have to be resized?

I can answer #4. Yes, resize or you'll have problems, this applies to any semi as far as i know.
