Versamax vs M2 for 3-gun

Its the indian not the arrow...and all that.
The key is to be proficient with any platform you choose or like/want to use.
they can all be competitive.

Any stage longer than 8 rounds is won or lost based on your ability to reload.
With a little practice, everyone can learn to shoot quickly.
Learning to reload consistently fast is what will separate the field.
That and a fancy outfit. If you don't look good, you don't stand a chance. Just stay home.

You sound SO wise.

Actually for the amount that the normal guy shoots and if you consider the amount of work required to get up to 3 gun ready shape - Versamax wins in my opinion.

You get a fully tricked M2 is pretty sweet with a lightened bolt but big money. 3.5" chamber is a real bonus to assist with loading as well.

Sweet....can you teach the ways of the FORCE over Skype?

I have kind of a moral/ethical question though.....do you let an RO know before hand that you will be shooting a stage with your eyes closed....or does one just make it a surprise for everyone?

Recently, RO course materials have been edited to reflect the fact that some competitors will try to use "the force" from time to time.
They have been instructed to "go with the flow".

It quickly becomes obvious (sometimes painfully obvious) when people are trying the force.
A tell tale sign of a new force user is repeated misses on the same target and running out of ammo.

They are confusing the power of the force with the power of the schwartz.

As for teaching you, we'll see if you are worthy.

I didn't say anything of the sort. Just a question...

I just said that "I" wouldn't base my choice of SG on whether or not it can be ghost loaded.. Others are free to do whatever they wish.
I only submit that two cents because it seems whenever there's talk of 3gun shotguns the topic of ghost loading pops up and many guys come across as if being able to ghost load is somehow an advantage. It's not.
Like pauls said... over all It's fast reloads that will win the day.

Ghost is an advantage, plain and simple. It might not make or break your stage/match, and it might be only a small advantage, but having the option of doing it can only help.

I will opt to ghost load a shell every single time its a fully loaded start....why would I only load 7 if I have the otpion of loading 8?

In Canada, I agree completely with this - ghost loading can absolutely help when the tube can only fit six rounds. As to US matches, since usually starts are limited to 9 rounds total, the ability to ghost load is rarely of much benefit since extension tubes will let you get that many in the tube as 667 has suggested. If you are shooting the majority of your matches here in Canada then I would certainly look at ability to ghost load in my decision making process.

Ghost loading is still sometimes beneficial in the USA. ... Since I can get a full quad load in after the start signal. ..really not a big deal though

You're drunk on those whit wine spritzers again?

I'll bet you that at tge next Rockcastle/Benelli shotgun match out of the 18 stages you won't get to ghost load once

Well. .. Maybe, at least I will have the choice

Loading right after the start signal is already pretty rare

If I was wise, I wouldn't have gone to the range today.
Snow and cold suck.
Need to move to Arizona

If you ask nicely, I may think about teaching you the ways of the force. (i.e. shooting with your eyes closed)

70*F & sunny today. :cool::welcome:
