Hello everyone,
Bought a Vertterli Model 1878 in 10.4 in rimfire, and going to do the center fire conversion on it. So I'm looking for reloading supplies, dies, Lee makes 41 Swiss dies...anyone have a set lying around :d, Brass, 348 Winchester brass and there also another type/size that will work...I think is called Lebel but can't find the size...10mm maybe and bullet molds .44 S&W Russian/Special/Magnum...they say will work.( more help on this please) Would like to buy all the molds, brass I will need.
I reload 9mm and 7.5x55 Swiss right now, so have the presses required to do the job.
And of course anybody with all the knowledge, that been there and done that would be great.
Thanks for looking/reading.
Love this old rifle design and just want to reload and shot it. I love reloading just as much.
Cheers
Brian

8mm Lebel or .348 Win brass is very similar. It's been a while since I converted any, but it seems as though I expanded sized, then cut off excess length with a fine hacksaw (I made a guide for consistant length with a piece of oak drilled in a couple of stages to hold the case) this worked best, I also tried a tubing cutter and it was ok but not as good as my home brew setup. Then trim to final length with a case trimmer. You can load .429 cast bullets for a 44 Magnum and they work fine. My dies are C H, I had to get up and go look to be sure.

Site sponser T E C Trade Ex has 8x50 Lebel brass and also 348 Win.

Hello Pete04 , I seen the 348 brass , but must of missed the Lebel brass. Will look again , I think the Lebel brass works better, so I've read on the net, with guy that have done it.
Something about the neck on the 348 win brass being a little too big,
Cheers

Thanks Jeff,
Did you do the neck down , with the 44 mag dies? Before your cut down and fire forming?
Cheers
