There have been some very neat new gun designs in the past few years, such as the MK-47 Mutant, PWS MK series, and the ARAK 21
to name a few.
Being a fan of ARs, 7.62x39 and AK mags (as opposed to stuffing tapered cartridges into straight magwells) this design really caught my eye.

https://www.mm-industries.com/m10x/

The aspects I found very interesting and are:
- monolithic upper (receiver, top rail and handguard are all 1 piece) with full length rail, and M-Lok handguard
- gun breaks open using a hinge between the upper and lower (similar to an AR), meaning you don't have to remove optics
to clean the gun
- adjustable gas block (5 positions)
- uses AK mag
- ambidextrous thumb safety
- fully nitrided (corrosive ammo and all)

Now, despite some people referring to this as an AK of some sort, this design is pretty new.
- The bolt and carrier are a new design
- The upper reciever and barrel are a new design (the barrel threads into the receiver, rather than being pressed in like on
an AK
- The only parts that interchange between this and an AK, as far as I can tell, are the trigger group and pistol grip.

I know classification is a crapshoot given the overlords, but I really hope these can be brought into the country, as I would be all over this like a fat kid on Smarties.

Semi automatic rotating bolt long stroke gas piston driven system, a proven design used in the most reliable self-loading firearms in the history.
Floated barrel is the result of floated joint at gas cylinder and gas block. Relieving tension on the barrel improves accuracy on almost any firearm.
Three-position adjustable gas valve (including “off” position) facilitates reliable functioning in the harshest environments with a wide array of ammunition, or allows the rifle to be manually cycled.
Recoil spring has been eliminated and its function integrated into piston return spring.
Castling feature allows for stronger rigidity and weight reduction in the rifle assembly.
Plunger-style ejector assures even ejection pattern regardless of the load of rounds used.
Reduced-mass piston reduces weight
Single unit integrated upper receiver eliminates guide rail rivets, and allows for stronger, stiffer guide rails to be used, reducing a point of failure, and enhancing the accuracy of the rifle.
Proprietary recoil reducing compensator Designed to reduce recoil and helps to control muzzle climb in rapid firing.
Hinged lower receiver opens like an AR for ease of cleaning and repair, whether at home or in the field.
Ambidextrous charging handle accommodates both left and right-handed shooters and special circumstances created by specialty add-on equipment.
Ambidextrous safety switch for both left and right-handed fire.
Corrosion resistant components ensure functionality even under the harshest conditions, and preserve the value of the firearm.
Mil Spec Type III anodized coating to protect the aluminum extruded outer components, flat black to avoid glare.
The M10X™ maintains the distinctive silhouette as well as legendary reliability proven on our M10™ rifle, with a distinctively modern, extruded aluminum chassis.

So basically its a sig550 with left side bolt handle, ak trigger group and ar furnature. Oh and its 7.62X39 and take ak mags.

Cool

NOT a Sig 550!!!!!!!!!! The Sig 550 is prohib. This is a new design, hence a new firearm.
It bears as close a resemblance to an AK as the Modern Hunter does to ARs, or the VZ-58 does to an AK.

Calm down. It is what it is. I never said it wasnt a new design. Its just a combination of what I said above. it even looks like it has a 550/556/siss arms bolt carrier and possibly modified bolt. The gas system is almost identical.

Also the VZ is much more different from an ak than this. Vz is striker fired with no parts that interchange. This uses ak hammer and trigger parts which may or may not get it deemed prohib depending on the rcmp tech.

I didn't mean to come across as freaking out. I was just emphasizing that it was a new design. I really should make more use of emoticons.
This is more different from an AK than the Swiss Arms is from the Sig.

This would one hundred percent get an nr classification. The modern Hunter and the cz958 both got nr, there is no reason this wouldn't too.
But it will take two or three years to get it classed, after which time we may not even own guns anymore if we don't fight now

I have been interested in 7.62x39 guns with modern ergo's and machined-in top rails for some time.
The PWS MK1s and ARAK-21 look good, but I want to use AK mags.
The CMMG MK47 looks good, and uses AK mags, but I would prefer a piston gun when using corrosive ammo. (Not starting piston vs DI, as DI is great for ARs shooting non-corrosive ammo).

M+M Industries could really find a bog market up here in Canada, given how swamped the USA is with all sorts of stuff. Sort of like how Robinson Arms and even DTA are making Canada-specific models to cater for the demand due to NR status.

Considering our liberal government who will stand behind the rcmp classifications the rcmp will likely say its a varient of sig 550 or the ak.

Its too bad because I think I would buy one if it wasnt.

CMMG Mk47 is a much nicer rifle... Or just an AR15.... or just an AK. You could buy a very nice AR15 AND an AK47 for the price of one M10x

Oh could we? Funny, last time I looked at an AK I could buy here it was about $4000. And that AR15 we can take anywhere, guess we can get something somewhat close in the $2000-$3000 range.

Who cares where this fits into the US market? If it made it passed the lab boys it would sell here.
