Very rare and collectable Swedish 6.5x55mm M94 School Carbine

Thought I would post this here so others will have a chance in the future to see what one of these School Carbines looks like as I will be deleting the EE posting shortly.

This was is extremely rare and seldom seen all original unaltered Swedish M94 School Carbine that was part of my collection that I just sold today, it sold very quickly.

Swedish M94 School Carbines were only made for one year in 1901 and in very limited numbers and very few exist worldwide in original condition. This one is most probably the only original one in Canada and also very few exist unaltered in the USA either.

This all matching and all original parts 6.5x55mm M94 carbine has excellent shiny and sharp rifling with a bore that shows little if any wear. I have not shot it but it should be a excellent shooter with such a nice bore.

Because that model came with one as designed, it was a School Carbine meant to teach cadets how to use the regular rifle in a smaller and handier package then the long and heavy full sized M96 rifle. When they got big enough and old enough they got to shoot the issue M96 rifle.

The School Carbines also had the regular rear sling swivel attachment at the bottom of the butt stock, instead of the cut and the buckle/tab on the right side. Very nice.

I posted about this extremely rare and all original Swedish M94 School Carbine on a US based gun forum awhile ago and got offers for it from the USA but it was too much bother to get it sent there and would need to be defaced with markings like all ex-mil guns imported into the USA now.

I was told that this carbine would be a quick and easy $2000-$2500 USD gun if it went up for sale down there.

According to "Crown Jewels", Dana Jones mentions that only ONE original School Carbine was known to exist. The serial number was in the high 800 range, and it was supposed that the production and serial numbers were less than 1000. This seems to be a second one to surface, and the serial number is slightly over 1000. Apparently most of these carbines were modified to the later 94-14 type.

Also, it would appear that the barrel was made with a different rifling twist than the regular M94 or M96 rifle. This was to handle the lighter loaded bullets. These bullets were often shot into a bag of material that let the bullets be salvaged and used several times.

I had a chance to pick one of these up for around $450 at a gun show years back, picked a no.5 jungle carbine instead. Was just a regular m94 carbine though!

Kinda regretting it now!

Yeah, any average M94 carbine in decent original condition is worth at least $750-$800 dollars, an all matching one in very good condition is a $1000 gun.

Yeah, it was as I mentioned in the EE posting as a extremely rare gun, and I'm sure the new owner is going to be happy with it, I even offered to buy it back if he was not happy with it, as I now know I could have easily got more for it.

I had a rarer Weapons Officer set that I sold a while ago too, they were a one of a kind and a collector in Sweden wanted them back in Sweden, A CGN sponsor dealer here bought them and a few other pristine and unique collectables off me direct, they never were posted on the EE.
