Hey all,

Some time ago I remember seeing a thread on really short 12 gauge shells. I do not think they were more than 1 1/2 inch long, maybe even less. They almost looked as wide as they were long!

Anyone recall seeing these, and know where I can find more info on them? I have tried the search function, with no luck.

Thanks,
Mike

Interesting! Never heard of such a thing ...... what's the point or advantage? Why would you want them......... what can you do with them? Are they specialty rounds of some sort or reduced loads/recoil?

I have no idea what they would be good for. That link (thanks Gunslinger) says they are good for playing at the range. :) Hows that for useful?

I was telling a friend about them recently, and he did not believe me. Of course, for some reason I thought they were 1.5", they are 1.75" so in the end I was wrong, but still.. I was close! :D

Make your own, any length you want, of course powder and shot reductions will be necessary, smokeless or Black Powder.

That is a really great Idea!

I'm going to try cutting down some AA hulls I have and loading them with a modest amount of #1 Buckshot. I heard the short shells will feed in a Mossberg so I'll probably get a few extra shells in the mag and quite a bit of Low-recoil firepower.

Hopefully I can get them to crimp. Maybe a Roll crimper might be necessary.

Yup, get you a roll crimper attachment that fits on a drill or better yet on a drill press, and go to town, you'll be lookin' for things to roll crimp!!!
