I just bought a CZ-75 SP01 Shadow and it seems to have a screw in the top quarter of the exposed trigger that threads through the face. The interesting thing is that it does not seem to have a purpose. Anybody know what it's there for?

somewhere i read that it's for adjusting the max travel. just seem to recall that...

overtravel screw

Yup, it's an overtravel screw. If you play with it though, make sure that your trigger works in both single action and double action. Too far in and it will not move far back enough to drop the hammer.

A rather useless overtravel screw in my case. My double action lets go when there's just barely a writing paper's thickness between the frame and the trigger. At the end it's got less than a mm of post shot travel for the DA shot. There's slightly more for the SA travel but I can't use it to adjust that out or the DA will stop releasing.

That's what I noticed with my CZ. I played with the screw a bit the just put it back to where it was because it was already set at the working limit of the DA pull. The only use I can imagine it having is if you have a trigger job done or some oterh work that would affect the pull...
