Retired last year & finally got around to this project that has been on the shelf for a dozen or so years.
As part of some bartering for a full wood forestock on my nicer Vetterli, I had obtained several "parts" rifles.
The best of the two looked like it had been stored muzzle down in the wet dirt for 50+ years. Some rough rifling remained, so it was shortened, and ended up as such.
Still need a bolt spring cover and to finish the end of the forestock. The action cycles nice, and the first 25 rounds seem to go nicely on aim freehand where they were supposed to.
Now here's the question to be tossed about as I'm not that good of a shot on the best of days & the bore is still very very bad ....
What is the most accurate rifle you have seen/shot that had one of the poorest bores?
