VI Gunnutz who want to show off their Blackpowder guns?

I'm getting a class trip to the JDF range organised, and am wondering if any of you fine Vanc Island fellows would be interested in coming out and showing off your flinter, cap and ball, and cartridge blackpowder guns.

Rifles, smoothbores and pistols are all of interest, as it's a history of warfare class, and the idea is to give an understanding of the technological changes that occured through the eras.

I won't ask for you to let other people shoot your guns (I've got one cap and ball I can bring for that), but showing how they work would be great!

I'll make sure to post pics after the fact

P.S. - tentative dates are between April 4 and 7th.

P.P.S. so far am considering malahat for closeness, SVI rangers for closeness, and Juan de Fuca for range activity (might be overwhelming for newbies to learn at a busy range). If anyone knows anyone to contact at SVI or the Malahat I'll try getting ahold of them.

Also just thought about it and anyone think SVI rangers might be a good place to try? It's easy to find and local...

I would do malahat, but needing one member per non member and $20 per person isn't feasable at this point, unless I can figure out how to organise something with whomever runs the place...

There is a black powder rondyvous at the Malahat range April 10 - 12 with visitors welcome. Not quite what you are describing and shooters require glasses and hearing protection, but it would give people some exposure to alternate firearms.

I had originally hoped to do that, but with exams starting on the 7th most people wanted to do something before that.
