the original mix was glycerin and water....however a little leak in either of the packing glands never hurt anything.....

I notices in both cases (the vid and the movie photo, that they did not have their index fingers OVER the top of the grips. thats a good way to get your knuckle rapped by the cocking lever. It HURTS.

Nope, it would raise the boiling point, and reduce corrosion. Use a surfactant such as dishwasher rinse agent to increase heat transfer, and thus cooling.
