Victorias alpine area some photos

Gday, some pics from a recent hunt in unburnt section of the state in whats known as the Alpine areas, about 1200 up to 1800 on the tops- snows in winter, we looked on a few stags but i didnt do so well , my mate seen quite a few.

Glassing a Face i was sure would hold a Deer come evening as it fed out of the gulley below... Not to Be.. not even a morning Deer in there, i ended up walking up the centre of Pic from down below... not much sign even.. quite a 'climb' but not NZ standards

Looking at those pictures it's easy to understand why you had such large and intense wildfires. Nothing but fuel there.

These areas were and arnt near as bad as low lying state forest, where the fuel was exceptionally high, in some photos you can see burn in the horizons, its burnt a fair area in the alpine but didnt continue due to the lush floors...
all those Grey trees are result of 2003 Fires which smashed Victoria.
the Blue gum Eucalypt Bushes that are about 10ft high, is result of Regeneration from those fires, making stalking, impossible, an a complete haven for deers.


RE Snakes- up there , we have Copper Head snake and Tiger Snake........
Bush Tiger snakes are dangerous! copper head is fairly chilled out
