*VIDEO* My shotgun won't pump?

Be sure to take any parts with springs apart with your hands and the part in a large plastic bag. I use the largest Zip-Locs I could find and pre close the middle then slip my hands in. There is nothing worse than the sound of some tiny spring hitting the floor:redface:

OH? Believe me, there's something much morse. It's the sound of some tiny spring, hitting the carpet f:P:

ETA Or even worse, grass :bangHead:

Just my luck! I realized that I needed to push the retaining pin out, only that I didn't have a punch long enough to get it clear. I took the disassembled shotty to a friend who did have a pin.

He promptly got the pin out, removed the tab and launched the spring into oblivion. :(

So now thats a bloody nightmare.

He appologized, gave me $20 and said to take it in to Stefan at the Shooting Edge.

Funny enough, I'm having the EXACT same issue with my new Remington 887 Nitro Mag Tactical. One of the leaf springs is not retracting sometimes. I can't reproduce the issue all the time, but it tends to happen every box of shells or so. Especially on cheap target loads.

It isn't the mag tube spring. I'm pretty sure of that. Lots of tension on the shells...

:D

Been there done that too. Let us know how it turns out...

I have nothing constructive to add to the conversation.

But damn dude, eat a cheeseburger, I have socks bigger than your t-shirt.:p

Great vid, it really helped in seeing what you were talking about.

So your shell latch isn't releasing your next round from the mag. I would have taken it apart and compared the left side shell latch to the right side, however I would have do so on a light-colour towel on a table or work bench.

Sorry you're having such a rough time with your first gun, I hope the gunsmith doesn't take you to the cleaners.

When you get your gun back try taking it apart a little bit at a time. Go as far as your comfortable and then put it back together. Look for disassembly videos on youtube or stuff like that and really get familiar with your shotty.
