Some years ago, I got on www.slinging.org. There was a how-to guide about constructing your own sling. I built a few, finally built one I really liked out of mason's line. I still use it now and then when the opportunity allows. Not accurate worth a damn, but I get good distance, maybe a hundred yards with my office worker skinny-arse arms.

Good fun. And hell on giants, apparently.
