Hunter and Tiger landing on a swiss Autobahn in 1991

Recently these videos have been popping up all over the swiss media because the Swiss Army requested permission to use the autobahn again for an exercise this year.

This hasn't been done since the early 90's.

It's going to be fantastic to see the Hornets operate from improved airstrips for the first time.

Swiss Air Force F-18 Hornet lands on Autobahn for the very first time

they pulled it off in quite a short time.

This concerns the final disposition of the remains of 4,000 Axis soldiers. They apparently were stored in what looks like a building last used in the manufacture of plumbing parts before it was abandoned.

Here is the link to an article with more specific details. Youtube's sinister policies at work.

I am guessing there are scant official records on this chapter in Czech and Slovak? history and that appears to be a deliberate policy. I am not here to virtue signal or support revisionist history.

There is a similar story still going on in the territories of the former Yugoslavia. Tito's forces had numerous citizens deemed collaborators executed and buried in many mass graves. In more recent times there had been an organization set up to investigate all of these mass graves but after the collapse of Yugoslavia, this has become a severely radioactive political hot potato. Thus the investigation has been put on indefinite hold as far as I know.

Gus Grissom's custom Randall survival knife resurfaces.

It looks like the extreme cold and low productivity environment in the deep helped to preserve this precious artifact. It serves to remind us the early space pioneers were often plucked from the top tier of the USAF or maybe USN aviators often whilst the S.E.A. War was raging in full fury.

"The Battle of Bourges, 1972"

Scenario: A Fr. Gladio cell assists a Fr. Army unit in a counterattack against an enemy armoured recce probe. Lets face it, civvies are never going to be handed anti tank weapons and told to go get em.

Hotchkiss promotional film.

The most formidable weapons were the stunning brunettes!

The weapons were all in development by Hotchkiss but had no success.

Cracking Fort Dufferin 12 days of heck.

^For those who ever wondered how much punishment The Halifax Citadel could take in a modernish war, this may offer some clues.

The Battle of Kennedy Peak

Can anyone shed some light on the specs of the 75mm tank gun the M3 was sporting? I have looked for details on it and those are scarce.

Degradation of dug WWII relics an explanation.
^ The practice with the Soviets till 1942 was to strip the dead naked, officers where buried uniformed. Other ranks where outraged at the final indignity being done with the dead being stripped of all clothing (even underwear) and the act was dropped.

Horrible new to me fact.

I will add that Canada continued with the practice of burying servicemen killed on operations in the juristiction of the country they died in for some time after WWII. The funerals were with full military honours, yet this practice caused a huge public outcry in the direct aftermath of the HMCS Kootenay fire and disaster. It is the reason the CAF abandoned the practice.

The disaster sent a wave of shock and horror through Halifax - Dartmouth, people felt the casualties were treated callously by the RCN.

In part this is true as there were some sailors who suffered severe mental problems from this, did not recieve adequate help, never recovering, resulting in the disintegration of families and added hardship.

Today it's merely a little known event in history. Compared to megadeath maybe not an issue at all.
