Video of the day

"Japanese base at Mankat, Burma attacked by P47's loaded with depth charges.' - January 4 1945.

"Depth charges for land targets. When Walmart is fresh out of regular bombs & you are fed up with dicking around."

Burma is generally hostile to outside entities today including the West and no wonder. Does anyone know if any Allied reconstruction money made it to Burma after WWII?

The Centaur class British aircraft carrier HMS Hermes (R12), laid down in June 1944 as HMS Elephant and then renamed. Commissioned into Royal Navy service in November 1959.

Transferred to India and recommissioned there as INS Viraat in May 1987.

Decommissioned in March 2017, and now just recently arriving at the breakers in Alang to be scrapped.
