Beautiful images!! ... probably shot with Kern-Paillard lenses (Switar?) on a Paillard-Bolex camera. All Swiss.

A friend of mine used to have a very extensive Alpa 10 (D?) 35mm still camera system which i was immensely envious of. Superbly made and terrific images

Kern was/is a Swiss optical company and they produced 50mm Macro-Switar lens used by Alpa which were quite outstanding - they were apochromats and in the case of these macro Switars, they had very high resolution. While Alpa didnt manufacture their own optics --- purchasing from French, German and Swiss sources - they had extremely high quality control standards; one reference I recall said that they disassembled and rebuilt each lens they received to their tolerance standards.

I used to go to used camera stores looking for Zuiko lens for my Olympus OM cameras. I looked for lenses in the Focal length I wanted that would "pop into focus", meaning clearly know when it was in focus as opposed to hunting back and forth to find the focus.
 
Don't give up on that vid, although the whole thing is great knowledge...it's a "must listen to" from the 5 min mark.
