Prisoners of the Caucasus (English subtitles) / Кавказские пленники 2002

I thought I'd repost this in light of current events. It has scenes of graphic violence.

Diopter I wonder if that guy is showing material from the 'mixed' batch of powder the USN provided the battleship with before the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

Hah. It is too bad he appears to be telling fibs about the mixed powder lots. lol

Good Vid great trick with the hat.

Besides the first guy in the foreground, I'd say either they don't understand the Assam State instructor or attentiveness isn't their best quality.

Sure hope that's not the 'cream of the crop' for their Police department....

I did actually think the brass catching trick was neat.

But also... Man... The Marines would have to keep a team of trauma medics and brain surgeons on standby, from the steady stream of drill sergeants getting aneurisms, dealing with those recruits.

Swiss Arms in the 80's

Swiss Army in 1986. The first few minutes are the most interesting. The Uzi never was issued. To my knowledge not even in small numbers, for trials maybe, but his doesn't look like trials. Probably privately purchased weapons.

During the 80's and 90's guns were widely available in Switzerland (they're still). From what I've heard from older friends it was quite common to take personal guns when the annual cours was due. My neighbor (later on a cop) brought his P226 instead of his issued P220. In 2004 I brought along my P228 for some training, which got me some funny looks, because I wasn't supposed to carry a pistol at all as a Sergeant.

Wouldn't do that today, not worth the trouble.

That just looks like that from the angle of the camera. When I remember the hand grenade manual correctly safe distance for a hand grenade for troops in cover is 1m, so he's good. Since in those times they still used the hand grenade 43 it was probably without the fragmentation ring around the grenade. So it looks more dangerous then it actually is. It's fun anyway. I miss those times.

During basic training and NCO school we had hand grenades, machine guns (M2 12.7mm) and Panzerfausts. In the repetitions courses all we had was machine guns and pepper sprays. No fun at all.
