Video Review of the Waltz .22 Re-Sizing Die

So why doesn't the pressure of the ram simply push the bullet deeper into the case? I would have thought it would take less pressure to move the bullet than to deform it?

Can you get different head punches for that die? Particularly a semi-wad cutter? Being just a target shooter, I don't care about expansion so hollow-point isn't necessary, but nice sharp-edged round holes are nice. :)

Another interesting tool I have is the Paco Tool, come with 3 different tools to use on 22 cal ammo. You use this tool with a small hammer and lightly tap on the bullet. I love the huge hollow points you can make with it. FS

Examine a 22lr closely. The bullet is the same diameter as the case, but has a tapered "heel" that fits within the case mouth.

Hey guys~bumping this old thread to see if anyone has any feedback on the Waltz/Paco kits. Interested in knowing if there was any notable improvement in accuracy, blow-up-edness on gophers using the hollow points, that sort of thing. With 22 ammo being a bit scarce, I think I'd like to try adapting rounds I know shoot well in my 22s.

I played around with a waltz die last year . In my experience it improved all of the bulk ammo that I tried it on . It did not turn it in to match ammo.
I only did accuracy testing at 50yd. This summer I did some gopher shooting with reworked and hollowpointed Federal bulk . With shots out to about 125yds, it definitely was more explosive on the little critters. Accuracy was at least as good as the unreformed stuff, hard to tell for sure on a gopher, under field conditions.
