Although a little off topic for our old milsurps web site, nevertheless we thought folks might find this this new video interesting, that we've just added to the "The Screening Room" (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=46.

Federal Law Enforcement Training Center

This video addresses conventional, specialty, and exotic shotgun ammunition. It describes the capabilities and shows the effects of the various rounds on an assortment of substances.

Wow, aren't those exotics illegal in Canada? I remember my instructor telling me that the flechette was banned.

Flechettes are indeed banned. No worries, they're nothing special. They only pierce the body armor in that video because the vest had nothing to transfer the projectile's energy into.

"Strung buck" looks like it will take a head right off...or what ever comes in its way. :)

Are strung buck and buck & ball legal in CANADA...?

"Bolo" rounds are prohib sorry. Buck and ball is about the only legal "exotic" ammunition shown.

There is no mention of "Bolo" rounds in the list of prohibited ammunition, the list is very precise and should be interpreted as printed. The only shotgun ammunition declaired prohibited is flechette rounds. Here is the complete list of prohibited ammunition from the bottom of the link below, if it's not here it is legal.
