Looks like they retained some of that previous business weirdness.
A 20"(ish) barrel with a mid-length gas system?
That ridiculous in-house designed charging handle with the pantie-liner sized wings?
Can't wait for all of the problem threads followed by a bucket load of these things getting dumped on the EE for 2/3 their purchase price...

Agree, when I had a MDI SLR when they first came out I made a point to not clean it as much so I wouldn’t have to take it down as often. Probably not the best practice, but I was also worried about stripping the take down threads.
I loved the way the upper and lower went together on those interlocking rails, I think that’s brilliant. It’s too bad they just couldn’t use a take down pin up front instead of a bolt.
100% this, it boggle my mind honestly, cause part from that that gun look very very good, if reliability holds up!
I second that. Plus even steel does strip out over time, if you have to tighten and undo it for every time you clean it.
This takedown screw really bothers me. There is no other components going across the slide between upper and lower, that means all the force that BCG imparts onto buffer/lower is going right up against that one tiny screw. Unless I am missing something else here, this is going to be a major point of failure.

I knew the Wailing and Gnashing would continue...change the Brake ??? I'd like to try it first to see how it works.
Please at least untill we get those inevitable third person accounts of how a New Coyote flattened the County when it detonated like a small Nuke.
I do have to agree though that the Mid-length Gas System is a bit mental.
If I had the green I'd be scooping one of these and a 22"-24" 224 Valkyrie Barrel.
I'm not sure about Wailing and Gnashing teeth...but I do kinda think it's funny that they continue on with some of the stuff they put on their guns.
I get that putting on a so, so quality barrel and some of the other choices they make are about costs, but I find it hard to believe stuff like a basic AR kit charging handle is more expensive than the one they dreamt up and Rifle-length gas isn't any cheaper or more expensive than the way they did it, so one really has to wonder where their head space is at.
Surely out of all the people they employ they could cobble together at least one AR guy that has that second sober thought process that could say "yeah, guys? this mid-length gas for a full length barrel thing is pants-on-head retarded"

you guys think I can put a Pantheon Dolos takedown kit and replace handguard
