Looking for recommended load min/max
7mm Rem Mag
Sako 85 Finnlight
VihtaVuori N560
Hornady ELDX 162gr.
Hornady Brass
Federal 215 primers

I've been using this combo for about 5 years. Found some info with much higher load data so just looking into some opinions, maybe I'm under loading it. Never did test velocity. Shooting 1-2" groups at 200 yrds.
Current load...
55.4gr
0.025" off the lands using OAL Guage.
(Min 52.5gr - Max 58.3gr) shot 5 groups within that range and determined 55.4gr was most accurate.

That seems like a weak load in a 7mm remember mag. I did a ladder test with a 270 win and the top load tested was 61.5 gr n560 130gr tsx 3200fps chronoed with magnetospeed.
With my 270wsm I was getting 3195fps with a 150gr sst Tikka t3 24 inch barrel 65.5gr of n560.

Appreciate the comments!
I'm thinking my current load range is for something like a 180gr when looking at that VV load data that was shared.
Definitely have some testing to do after this hunting season. Might have to invest in a chronograph.
Oddly enough, I haven't had any issues with my current load and taking down game. Farthest so far was around the 300yrd mark.

if you have dope for more than one distance, you could use something like Shooters Calculator to get a ballpark velocity

thanks for the VV data link, hadn't seen that before
The problem with that, I think, is that the BC provided by manufacturers may not be accurate. Or even close.

a good chronograph is an essential tool for a serious handloader, in my opinion
100% agree. I had a magnetospeed for a few years and upgraded to the Garmin as soon as it came out. I have also upgraded my bullet puller since as well, lol. Amazing how many times you will creep up on velocities that are over pressure with no pressure signs. Crazy to think how many years I reloaded without one.

I also use Gordan’s Reloading Tool to develop optimal powder burn and safe loads. I have found Vihtavuori data to be pretty good in my rifles as use a fair bit of their powder.

I did 7 load tests. Working my up to 67gr as max load. Did find the bolt was stiffer than normal on that round. Only did 3 shots.
Found 65gr to be most accurate out of 7, 5 shot groups. 100yds.

7mm Rem Mag Hornady ELD-X 162gr
0.025" gap.
65gr VV N560 powder
Sako 85 Finnlight.
Velocity, TBD (waiting to borrow chronograph)
