At the risk of having missed the obvious, does anyone stock the Viking Tactics handguards in Canada? I did a search here and can't find any mention of them. Looking for a carbine length one. If anyone is aware of a dealer who stocks them can you let me know? Thanks.

I have seen the VTAC handguards (the ones made by JP Enterprises) at ATRS in Calgary. You should give them a call and see what they have in stock at the moment.

Sorry for the necro post, but I am looking for a:

VTAC Extreme BattleRail - 13 inch FDE

Any idea where to find one in Canada?

Any info/help would be greatly appreciated - thanks :)

I have contacted VTAC directly as well as two Canadian retailers including ATRS.

VTAC said to check with their Canadian Distributors - as they can not ship outside of the US.

Both Canadian Distributors said the same thing....

Any suggestions?

Can someone recommend a Canadian retailer the sells the Troy rail in 13in FDE?
Thought I still do prefer the VTAC version - line cuts looks cooler then circles :)

Just an update for those interested in the same rail.

I have contacted all the suggested Canadian retailers with no luck - no one stocks the rail and no one can bring them in.

I contacted delta3tactical.com in the US and they are OK with shipping the rail to me.

My question is: will there be any problems with the border?

Thanks for all your work on this. Please post what you discover about shipping from the US. :D

If they catch it, the worst you'll get is the loss of your handguards. The company, unless they are a US State Department approved exporter, and have sent you the export paperwork to fill out (for them to file) then they could (at worst) lose their business license and face criminal charges.....

There is a reason companies have such trouble getting stuff, a lot of US companies that are willing ship stuff aren't extremely familiar with the laws regarding export.

It would be legal to export that handguard - IF J.P. Enterprises/VTAC is registered with the US State department, and the company you're getting them from sends you the export paperwork, you fill it out then they submit it to the US State Department and wait for it to be approved or denied. IIRC the US State department charges money for "non major" components over 100 dollars, if its under 100 dollars (a grip or scope mount or something) they just need to be a licensed exporter.

It's funny because right on the main page it sais that they do not ship to Canada. I wondering if he's out to just take your money. :D

It says; "Note: We do not ship products outside the United States."

I sent him an email saying if this is the case - please cancel my order.

But I got a call back on my cell that the above statement is only for Europe, etc.

I want the rail to make it through without problems - what are my chances here?

Am I taking an un-necessary risk or is it OK?

Tons of stuff slips through the border everyday, but if it gets "checked" it'll likely be confiscated...

What are the chances it'll actually make it through? pretty darned good. Guys get stuff like folding stocks, flash suppressors, and other expensive parts without proper paperwork all the time.... It doesn't make it legal though, and if on the slight chance it DOES get "checked" it'll likely be grabbed and you'll be out the couple hundred bucks.
