The 5 digit serial # indicates WWI production. Chrome finish pretty much kills any collector value.
If it's serial 17000 - 17250 it is first year production [1912] if it is serial 17251 - 17999 then it's 1913 production.
If it was all original in 80% condition it would be worth a considerable amount of money to a collector as it's an early Colt 1911 military model.
Since it has been "chromed" and the sites changed then it is only a "shooter" grade 1911.... value is whatever the current market is for a "shooter" grade Colt 1911 military. Collector interest would only go to the vintage. Putting back the original trigger is a 10 min job. Reinstallation of the 'original' sites [both front & back] may be problematic.

Good news.... the trigger looks like early 1911A1 milled trigger.... might be worth a few $$ to someone looking to restore an early Colt 1911A1...

It's a rare gun due to it's age and low number produced but collector value is nill due to the refinish. Is the serial number missing from the receiver or is it hidden by photoshop? Your rear sight could be easily replaced I would think. At least it looks that way. If the gun was a family keepsake then it has collector value but you said you purchased it. At the end of the day it's an old Colt and it's been around a lot longer then we have.
