A picture would help a lot. But without that, most old drillings with claw mounted scopes have no windage turret in the scope, windage is adjusted instead by the two opposing screws in the rear claw mount. You only need to turn the opposing screws a very small amount to make an adjustment. Try backing off one side 1/4 turn and screwing in the opposite side the same amount. That will swing the scope horizontally at the rear, and will adjust point of impact.
