Vintage or old

At what point in time does a scope graduate from old to vintage or the other way around.

Does vintage imply any thing other than a $$$$ value in the eye of the owner.

Does old or vintage mean the owner is trying to squeeze some money out of it before giving it away or garbaging it.

Vintage is a term to see if there is someone who has been around long enough to remember such an item and might buy it out of nostalgia.

As to getting old versus older . . . Old is when your best before date and expiry date coincide!

Dependith iff'in they put the "Old" before or after the "Vintage" werd.

This adds or subtracks a few years.

Well, at about 50 I decided I was not going to be "old"...now 4 years in and I find that I self identify with the words "Vintage, with a slight patina."
