The weather Gods smiled and 16 Gun Nutz had a wonderful day shooting at Camp Borden.
Thanks to a masterful job of organization (like herding cats) by the Range Officer – Tim Kagetsu, we got through an ambitious program of deliberate, snap and rapid shoots (with a moving target at 100 yards) by 5:30.
Nine bottles of fine wine were handed out at the prize giving.
By rough count there were 3 Garands, 4 M14s, 4 SKS, 2 Moisen Nagents, a SVT40 and a Swedish Mauser.
Even at 300 yards, we did not have any problem hitting the 22 inch wide Figure 11 target. The same target seemed more elusive at 100 yards when it “walked’.
I hope we can do this again in September or October.
