Bought a Savage 99 with a steel body 4x31 post and cross scope on it. It is labelled Sterling but in a flowing script like a signature. Does not say Nikko Sterling in the gothic script youd see on those scopes. Cant find any info on line about these. Anyone see these before?

The early Sterling scopes were made in Japan. They were fairly good, quite simple inside. If it needs cleaning you might try Trace Scope Repair.
