"Vintage" Tasco and Weaver T-series scopes....worth tracking down?

Hey guys~I'm pretty well covered with rimfire scopes...meaning...no immediate need, but always considering upgrades. I like to reach out at times, so scopes with higher magnification do hold some appeal. Fixed-power scopes for non-target applications where I engage at various distances are maybe less useful, but I've often wondered if say...a Weaver T10 is so good that it might be worth considering. Periodically, I see (=miss) "Vintage Tasco" scopes in the EE, but quite literally know nothing about them, don't know anyone who has, etc. My only Tasco experiences is with very low-end stuff I messed around with 20+ years ago before I knew any better. I have owned, and DO own a number of older Bushnell Banners/Scopechiefs etc. and think the glass is very good for what you pay for them...but something new (to me) with AO is something I'd like to look at in 2019.

Any of you guys have/use either of these scopes for field use? Varmints? How low in power did the Weaver Ts get made? 8X?

Photos welcome. :)

Cheers,

They are a cult following.
Glass of days of yore don't equate to current clarity.
That typed, it's always great to see a complete package of an older
rifle fitted with correct era awpticks.

If you get stuck, call Phil @ Trace Scope Repair as he does buy up old gun show scopes
and refit them to sell.

Thanks guys, it's the older Japanese Tascos I'm more interested in looking into. Anybody here have one? Details? Interested in reticle types...AO down to what range...1/4" adjustments? etc.

thanks!

Would love to look through a Weaver T something...

I scored some vintage steel El Paso Weaver K-scopes from EBay in 2.5, 3, and 4X. I know they're quite a bit different from the T series, but I've found them to be serviceable scopes.

Not as good as modern glass by any stretch, but the aesthetics of era-correct glass and gun is appealing.

Good luck in your hunt. :)
