I used my M1 Garand for IPSC once. It was too fun seeing the range officer get hit with the dirt flying off the berms from the heavy slugs.

Unfortunately, the Thomspon is listed in the regs. as Thomspon 1921, 1927, 1928, M1 and M1A1 or variant there of. They don't list the 1928A1 specifically, but cover it with VARIANT THERE OF. This, unfortunately, includes the new semi-autos made by Khar Arms/ Auto Ordnance.

Riflechair used to run a vintage pistol comeptition in Terrace BC and it was a hoot. You got a score bonus if you came in period costume so I showed up with my S&W 2nd Model Hand Ejector in 455 and my LRDG costume, it was a whole bunch of fun. The rules were a mix of IPSC and IDPA with a bit of prop usage thrown in for extra flavor.

I shot "Wild Bunch" at the SASS National Championships in Phoenix this year using a 1914 manufactured Colt 1911 whose serial number falls within the Canadian Contract 1911's. Now there are style points!

Thread hijack, I understand CAS and SASS and their appeal but they don't interest me. I would however be first in line to run a WWII infantry 3 gun style match using the firearms as issued to the soldiers of the various nations.

I like the idea. Hardly anyone shoots revolver but vintage class might cut it.
