We all know good old VSS "Vintorez" Russian Silent Sniper rifle :

I really like how it looks... So i photoshoped some images together to see what i can do to my Russian SKS to make it look kinda similar to VSS . :?))
So i got this... :

Looks pretty nice... i think... and i got all the parts (Choate D. Stock, POSP 4-8x42 scope, mounts, mags) the only thing missing is that barrel cover.
I put my idea on paper.. And i really want to know if it is doable for a gunsmith or a millwork shop.

Also, with minor modifications to the desigh this "thing" can also be a muzzle brake/flash hider... :?))

I don't know about an sks but a vz 58 the restricted version with a custom barrel heat sheald and posp scope plus a shorty mag would work. Also the already have the rear stock for it.
 
Well, if you're going for the cobbled-together out of spare parts "Mad Max" look, then you've succeeded.

Am I right in guessing you saw this first in a video game?

boooing. Now I'll make it for sure!!! As for vz58, I want it
to be a non-restricted, I still want to be able to run through
the woods (hunt) with it time to time :?)))))

Yes I did see it in vidio game "stalker" to be exact. :?))
And no spare parts.. Got everything for that reason.
And with correctly sellected matirial, that cover shouldnt

Well the CZ 858 is non-restricted and you can take it out in the bush. The only problem is that the barrel length will be a little longer. Also if I was to do all this work in creating somthing like this. I doubt I would take it any were but the range. But too each there own.
As a side note this is my second favorite sniper rifle of all time and for people that say it's an ugly gun don't know the true beauty of this rifle! Look's don't mean squat in the firearms world.
 
I had a similar idea
but instead of mounting the long silencer-looking tube OVER the barrel, i thought of putting it on the end, or maybe 1/3 in from the tip. Yes, it would definitely lengthen the barrel significantly.

Essentially, I wanted to get a really long flash hider that looks like a silencer. I'm sure that wouldn't be hard to make. Just get a long cylinder and thread it at the end to fit over the tip of your barrel like a flash-hider. Ideas/suggestions on that anyone? Or is having a big long piece of tube at the end of your rifle going to mess up your shots?

yes i wanted a nice long muzzle brake too, but it is impossible to find, so since i have to go custom, i figured might as well do something unique...
but long suppressor look sounds awesome...
