Viper Competition base pads on 14.45

I'm quite unsure of which section this topic belongs, if it is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it.

Now to the point. I know that Viper competition only makes their basepads for 16.40 magazines, but they do fit on 14.45 magazines, except for the fact that they reduce the 45 mags capacity to 9 rounds.

Is there a way to remove some metal on the top of these pads to use them on 45 magazines and retain the 10 rounds capacity?

I doubt it, I'm looking at my base pads on my 16.40 and there does not seem to be a lot of material extending inside the magazine. They have a pretty fancy spring / pin assembly inside and grinding off too much metal might compromize the retention pin assembly.
