I am wondering what kind of luck you PST 2 owners are having with them. I realize some hate Vortex, and some like them, but I'm just curious about this new version. It appears the $13-$1700 range optics all have something missing.
Burris XTR2 missing some quality glass
Nightforce SHV missing some eye relief and they use a 56mm on non F1 models
Bushnell Lrtsi, missing 3-15x50 etc.
PST 2 has everything but maybe still not durability???
Anyway if you could reply only on the PST 2 and why or why not you like it, as a current or previous owner of one.

I have the PST 2 1--6x scope. I find that it compares favourably to its bigger cousin the Razor HD 2 1-6x which I also own, allowing for direct comparison. The biggest difference between the two is price - the PST 2 costs exactly half of what retailers charge for the Razor. It certainly offers more than half the performance! I can highly recommend the PST 2 1-6x as a carbine or DMR optic. Mine has been great in the six months or so that I have owned it.

I own 3 vortex scopes,1 pst 1st gen 6x24. this rides on a ruger precision in 6.5 cm. Maybe have 200 or so rounds down the tube and so far happy with the scope. for the price not too many scopes I have tried are in the same league in my opinion. yes there are better scopes out there by far but how much do you want to spend? have not had the 2nd gen pst up to my shoulder yet so really cannot comment on the 2nd gen. being that much better:ie tracking and reliability. Being that I don't hunt anymore and just shoot paper and steel my equipment is not put through the rigors of being in the field and abused. I find that dollar to dollar, the vortex has things that I prefer over my other scopes (nf nxs, zeiss) and things that the others are just better for. no such thing as the perfect scope.

I have a 5-25 sfp ebr-4 reticle. I have had it for a bit, wanted to try one and see how good they are.
First impression the scope is sharp and clear, crosshairs really stand out and are very easy to read the numbers on the moa reticle. It does not wash out on higher powers likt the gen 1 did.
The 25 moa/revolution turrets are very crisp, the zero stop is like hitting a wall when you come back to zero, very nice, way better that the gen 1 washers.
Adjusting the turrets are a bit different as you have to remove the turret to sight the rifle in. After you get use it then it makes sense.
I finally took my rifle out to see how it dials at longer ranges, that all seemed close. I didn't take a lot of time doing it as I only had a small amout loaded for the gun.
One down fall I would say it the crosshairs are to thick at long range. I was just shooting a gong with a white mark on it, that was ok but for fine tuning on a small target it would be challenging
Later on this summer I will take it out and one of my nightforces to compare the glass more. I shoot to the west and its usually in the late evening and the sun can cause a lot of issues. I know my sightron S-111 failed miserably in this situation.
The only other Vortex I own is a Golden Eagle and I have not used that one much. I have shot lots of other Vortex scopes, all sorts of models.
I would say the Gen 2 is a nice upgrade from the early ones.
Is it a Nightforce NSX? Nope its not, but it is also not in the same price point.
All to often people compare a $1500 scope with a $3000 scope.

I have the PST gen 1 scope and the razor hd gen 2. Specifically talking about the PST, I have nothing bad to say about it, functions perfectly and is a nice scope. No complaints. Its mounted on my RPR enhanced 6.5CM, the PST gen2, I don't have any experience with, but I've heard good things about it.

I stole one from the brother in law, wanted to try before I committed. The turrets and the glass are both better than the gen 1 scopes but I didn’t think it was worth another $800. I found a NIB XTRII with USO rings for the same money, think I’ll be happier in the long run. That said, I WILL be watching the EE in a year or so as early adopters move up to the next big thing ;)
