I will be getting one of the new Gen II PST scopes (30mm tube, 44mm objective, PST-3158) and will be mounting it on a flat rail, what height of rings should I be looking at?
I have been using this tool for reference (http://www.mil-rad.com/scope_ring_calculator), I am putting in 2.08inches in for objective bell diameter as per vortex specs, assuming 2mm of clearance for scope cover extra width (going with butler creek flip open covers but couldn't find a definite spec for extra width on those) and am putting in 0 for mount height since it is going on a flat rail.
According to the math I could use the high Vortex Tactical Rings (210000001687) with about 1.6mm of clearance? Is that reasonable? Should I go with the Burris high rings (420164) with 5.9mm of clearance instead, or even extra high models?
Is there anything else I might be missing?
Thanks
