Viper rifle sling

I have one of the original leather viper rifle slings that I got from some of my late fathers hunting equipment. It is new but out of the package and no instructions, I was wondering if anyone here knows and can explain the proper installation and operation of this sling.

I guess like myself, no one knows how to utilize this sling.

It's a straightforward sling... no mystery to it... just unscrew the little screws on the swivels then push them out and rotate teh pins frees.....put the pins through the swivel studs on your firearm... then put the pins back in place and tighten the swivel screws back....

do the swivels look like they are correct in the pic? according to your instructions. and how do you use this sling. ie. the dome snap on the front swivel looks like it can be unclipped and the sling slid forward for more distance. ( cant quite figure out this step, I'm sure it's straight forward once explained)

I have two viper slings. You sling the gun across your chest and unsnap the lock snap. It allows the sling to slip when you bick the gun up to shoot. They actually work very well but I don't particularly like the way they carry my gun. You can leave the snap done up and use them like a conventional sling though.

Just to clarify between me and tac... What are you trying to do first?... Install it on the gun or use it once it is installed?..

Both, I managed to get the swivels onto the sling,and they are as in the pic, I don't know if they're correct or not (are they?).They seem like the logical place to be.
and I would like to know how to use the sling as it's designed.

I assume the gun is slung so the rifle is across the chest and then raised to the shooting position with the sling left in place on shoulder and across your back.
