I,m actually going to go soon I'll post the pics as well. I heard they did an unveiling ceremony for the Arrow replica, even some people who worked on it were there.

Their airshow is one of the best. Usually runs in June. About the third weekend.

I thought they cancelled it years ago? Is it back on again, if so I,m all over that. Yes I agree it was the best airshow ever. I have fond memories of West German Pilots messing around before takeoff with an F4 Phantom and lighting the grass on fire of the tarmac with the afterburners.

Do you have a direct download for the movie I want to burn it to disk?

To bad the had to unveil it at downsview instead of in Milton where it was made.

Also to bad the ####s that run our country decided to knock down the factory and use ot for storing road salt and snow plows instead.

Road salts's just as important right?

I tried, but with Quicktime plugins, I can't see how to save it. Usually you right click the link and hit Save Target As, but it won't work. Maybe someone else knows how? I'd like to save it too.

I haven't been by there in a long time, but the old Avro buildings were converted to McDonnell Douglas plant for many years making DC10 or similar wings. I had heard they were closing it down...have they torn it down?
It's just south of the corner of Derry and Airport roads.
The Orenda plant is on the south side of Derry east of Airport, I think it's still there but not sure.

MrClark,

Actually Downsview is not such a bad location for the Arrow rep. A lot of subcontract work was done there, Mosquito fighter bombers were produced at Downsview (hey, it is the home of dehavilland Canada) so it's in good spiritual company.
Best reason though, is that the original Victory Aircraft / AVRO Canada hangars were all demolished by the Toronto Airport Authority during the summer. There's no where to roll it out at Malton (not Milton) except into a big pile of debris.

Malton, Milton? Oops:)

Funny, we restore and keep the don valley brick works (a ####ing brick factory) but we dont preserve the Avro plant, the Inglis plant and the Long Branch plant.

And there's still talk about gutting Union Station.

Sometimes this province makes me want to puke. Hell when you go to the US theres a museum on every street corner.
