VLEH or SR-22?

VLEH has a target trigger (so they say, i hear its just a polished old style group) and a cold forged bull barrel.
SR has neither but has a nice AR like chassis on it, but under that its just a plain stock 10/22.
so what is better, the bull barrel with a 'target trigger' or a stock 10/22?
id take the VLEH, but thats just me.
and i have a SR and like it!
it really comes down to what you want, do you want a gun that looks like a AR but is a 10/22 or do you want a 10/22 that is upgraded to be a good shooter?

the VLEH is a heavy tack driver. Really accurate. You can put 10 rds in a quarter at 50m. in a dime a 25. It feels like a rifle. While I like the SR, It is solely heavy to look like a AR, cosmetic only. You get a lot more for your buck with the VLEH. You won't see many of them on the EE for a two reasons: Not that many around and owners love them.
Hmmm... you are right. I saw a SR at the range today, really looks the business. However, if I am going to shoot targets properly I guess it has to be the VLEH. Not as pretty but a better choice to own for intended purpose whereas the SR would be great to have a go of.
So...coming back to this, I had a quick look at a VLEH in Bass Pro yesterday.
Much smaller than I thought it might be, nice and compact. I noticed the barrel is not solid though. I suppose if it was, it would be a bit front-heavy but anyway, it seems to be made up of different layers and put me a bit in mind of a cheapo Crosman air rifle I had a little while back. With that, it really was a case of it being so cheap they couldn't even be bothered to make the barrel out of a solid bit of steel and it was padded out to thickness with a plactic sleeve but is this "composite" VLEH barrel okay? I assume so, positive comments here and good reviews elsewere...
Also, how does the bipod attach to that front sling stud (it wasn't assmbled in the shop)? Is it possible to put a proper rail on the underside of the front stock?
Finally, there was no rail on top of the action; is that also a self-assembly thing? I couldn't see any threads tapped for attaching one either so how does that work exactly?
(Perhaps I should have started a new "Questions about the VLEH" thread).

Based on your comments, you must not have spent much time looking at it.
Not sure what you mean by the barrel not solid. mine is a heavy hammer forged barrels with recessed target crown. Based on Cabela's website, it is still the case.
Mine had the rail included. Kind of a must as there is no iron sights. must be self assembly (4 screws, 2 mins) Even the basic 10/22 has the screws.

Well that's what it looked like to me though I admit to not having my glasses with me at the time... Didn't seem as heavy as I expected too, which is also why I thought it was made like that.

the SR 22 has a .750 dia bbl - thicker than regular 10/22. Many SR 22 bbl are threaded too, if that makes a difference for you.
There was a thread on here about building a SR22 vs buying one. I recall that if you were going to put a custom bbl, HG, and stock, that it is actually cheaper to buy a 10/22 and a Nordic chassis plus your own furniture.
