Vltor vs troy

Ive posted on the EE that I am interested in trading a green vltor m1s stock for a black troy mcs stock, but before I go through with any deals I was wondering if the m14 crowd had any advice. Pros and cons of both chasis.

There has been a few guys have the Vltor stocks cracking where the metal meets the fiberglass.....troy chassis is built like a tank.

Vltor is not a chassis.
It is a surplus war era usgi fiberglass stock, cut off behind the receiver and a machine unit is bolted and glued to the cut off stock.

A troy stock has mechanical features and is metal. These features make it a chassis.

One is lighter but offers no "accurizing features" other than bedding and has a major weak point so could fail under rigorous use.
Troy is heavier but built to last. Has rock solid rail options and has no flex so supports the action, lending to potential gains in accuracy.

The M14S-CQB manufactured in my shop is a far better choice over a Vltor and nearly as stiff as aluminum being it is a one piece laminate construction.

M14doc said it all.

But why the Troy chassis? The Sage stock should be a little lighter, allow the use of better iron sights and lower optics mounting.

Plus the Sage stock is the one fighting for America. Beside the ideological side, this brings MUCH more testing and support for it.

I've got a black Troy up for sale, if you're interested send me a PM. As far as I know the Vltor is unobtanium in Canada so I don't think you'll have a problem selling it on the EE, depending on what you ask for it.
