yeah that looks a lot like my gun. my bolt handle has a ball at the end of it, and the bolt release lever on mine is not jeweled, but rather black. otherwise, it's VERY similar.

my butt pad is...well, pretty much flattened out though...so it doesn't really offer much in the way of recoil reduction. not a huge deal though.

Thanks for posting those photos!

edit: after looking closer at the bolt on your rifle, it looks a lot different at the back end of it...yours is sort of sclupted looking and the one on my voere is much more "function first, nevermind the form" if you will.

*edit again: also, the foregrip on yours has that little lip at the leading edge...mine doesn't have that either.

well, the bolt shroud, that's one thing that makes it a 2150 or a 2160 familly. It also carries a fine adjustable trigger.

Do you have the "tang safety" adder?

Nice rifle Baribal.

Question: how does the tang safety work for you? I had the choice between a tang safety and a side safety, and went with the side safety, but only because I read stories of the tang safety malfunctioning.

Also, your bolt doesn't seem to have the long rib on its body, does it? Other than the lever and the shroud, my bolt looks the same. Mine has the military shroud, but without the safety.

I will have to take pictures of it to post.

Bolt shroud...right. Sorry, i don't know a lot of the specific names at this point...very VERY new to rifles here.

along those lines...can you please explain what a tang safety "adder" is?

if i'm correct, the tang safety is a safety in the same style and position as the safety on your rifle in the photo. my safety lookes like that. what is the "adder"?

eon blue apocalypse,

On the higher grades of Voere rifles, the safety is aligned with the bolt pull axis, and the "adder" is a piece of metal (alu) wich hold the safety lever.

Gunlover,
No, the safety isn't an issue. It wirks quite fine and is a god complement to the adjustable trigger. As for the bolt guiding rib, yes it's there. It's not a "long" rib, it's just the std Muaser guide rib, wich hides under the extractor when bolt is closed.
As I said, if your bolt looks loose in the receiver and does not have the guiding ribe, check on top on the inside rear bridge to see if there is a slot for one there. If so, then, you may likely have a replacement bolt.

I guess I do Baribal, because the slot is there at the top, inside wall of the rear receiver bridge. The rib, however, is nowhere to be found. :(

If I can make it feed properly with that bolt, then it'll be OK. If it doesn't want to feed, I'll just keep it until I can find a proper replacement bolt. Unfortunately, the bolt may be the only part you can't just mail order and throw in when received. Proper headspace will have to be maintained, so a proper fitting bolt will be required. :(:(

But I still wonder, though. I have a brand new Winchester M70 in .308 Win for which I paid only $200 more than what I paid for this rifle. So maybe I'll just get rid of it and buy another M70 in .30-06. Mine is many, many times smoother than this Voere is, and it's 100% reliable and accurate to boot.

Buy a replacement bolt core from Trade Ex. Ask them to try it in one of their Voere, but it should work - you can even send the rifle to them and the'll try bolts ntil they get the right one (for headspace issues). My bet (and I'm 99.999% sure I'm correct) is that some previous owner lost the bolt and replaced it with the one you have there, wich is the wrong one.
