Hey, i have a Voere kufstein i believe model is P-29772. It is a .308 cal. I cannot fine very much info on this gun. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreicated
All I can say from your posted infos is that it's a post-'78 rifle, when Voere moved to Kufstein, in the Austrian Tyrol. Can you post a picture of it?
You don't say if it's a semi-auto or a bolt action (then, push feed or CRF?)... we need more meat to help you out.
The semi-auto rifle is the 2185 series, half stock, full stock, heavy match and a tactical variant.
IIRC Canward Inc. out of Quebec imports these rifles and associated parts.
It's one of the model 2155 variations .
The year of manufacture is usually stamped on the receiver ring, bolt handle root and barrel. I can't make it from your pictures, but I see it on the receiver ring.
These rifles are made on scrubbed ex-military Mauser 98 actions.
One sour taste stays in me from the name Voere.
In the 1960s when I was involved in selling guns, we got this beautiful looking 22 bolt action rifle in, named Voere. A good customer bought it and within a couple of days was back in the store, stating the rifle quit firing. He said he had only fired about two boxes of shells in it.
A quick look showed the receiver at the bolt handle, which locks it up, to be badly worn! We gave him back his money and before the rifle went back to the distributor, I tried a file on the vital lock up area. The metal of the receiver was so soft that the file cut it like cheese and the lock up area had so expanded, that the rifle wouldn't fire the cartridge.
True, this was only one rifle. But what does it say about a company with such poor quality control that would allow this to happen. Especially, when this represented their introduction to these rifles to Canada.
I've had several of these. Some were small ring '98 like the Turk, some large ring. All had the slim, swept back bolt handle. Mine were 7mag and 30-06. Bought a package from Globe in the early '80's. Aluminum hinged trigger guard/floorplate. Most are still in this area. Seem to be ok guns. Mark
Drop J,
It looks like yours is either built on a FN or a Santa-Barbara commercial receiver, which is a good thing.
As for value, it usually goes used for 350.00 $ to 600.00 $, depending of course on condition, caliber and model.
