A recently acquired Voere Shikar has an odd issue. When I close the bolt while depressing the trigger to leave the rifle decked, or if I dry fire the rifle to ease springs, the bolt rotation becomes very stiff when I next try to open the bolt. I have cleaned and lubed the bolt and problem persists. I've read similar posts on other sites but saw no replies.

Is this the voere that’s based on a mauser 98 action? Therefore #### on opening? Not knowing how stiff it is suppose to be but I have cleaned up the cam track that the sear/cocking piece rides in on Mausers to make them smoother. Is it gritty and jumpy or just a hard smooth push?

I think Webley is on the right track. The manipulation of the bolt, once the firing pin is forward, re-cocks the cocking piece and there is resistance.
Do it slowly and watch the bolt shroud area to see what is happening.

The Voere Shikar has a three lug lock up and a 68 degree lift on the bolt handle, the main spring is pretty "Mack Truck" stiff as well. The reason you are having concerns about the effort required to #### the rifle is not uncommon. As a matter of fact I would be surprised if you could cycle the bolt after firing a round without taking the gun down from your shoulder to reload. A nice looking firearm but it is not perfect. D.H.
