Voere Titan II Voehrenbach .308win

I picked up an unfired Titan II in .308win. One tiny light scratch in the stock that you really need to look for. Single trigger, original recoil pad is dry, stock is the non gloss with rosewood? fore stock tip. There is a dealer in Huffman TX that is advertising WTB for these rifles and claim the .308win is the rarest. He did inform me that he could not purchase it due to the US importation laws. I'm thinking of selling to free up some camp building cash. Is there anyone on this site who might point me into the direction of Voere aficionado's who might be best to talk to about value?

The Voere I am familiar with was distributed in Canada by RUKO. I believe that Kleinguenther (sp?) in the us also sold them .. they were interesting actions with 3 forward locking lugs and a very short striker travel (eg "instafire" fast lock time) that contributed to good accuracy. They apparently used a stellite insert in the barrel to accommodate the locking lugs. Some info online if searched. I probably have an old brochure somewhere but not interested in searching for it right now - if I come across it though I'll let you know. Although this may sound obvious and simple minded: these rifles are rare because they simply didn't sell very well - I am not sure if RUKO could afford to spend too much money on promotion of these rifles with the small volume/lower margin they would generate compared to their very large product line. In their catalog at that time, I am sure, were low cost but high margin items with very high turn over.

If you can find scope bases etc for the rifle - I dont think anyone would regret owning a Voere; I have a Voere (Austrian) 2185 self loader that is very accurate. I like it very much and would not sell it.
 
Thanks for the feedback AP. I had the Texas Dealer tell me his local market value would be $1800 USD because its a 7.62/.308win. I don't even know what they sold for new.

You wont even get half of that in Canada...
 
That's right, unless your not in a hurry and find someone who desperately want it, I doubt you'll get much over 800.00 $ / 850.00 $ max for it here.
Using it yourself will probably bring you a rifle for the rest of your life....
 
I sold my voere Titan II in 300 wby a couple years ago, I sold it for $1300, I probably could have got a little bit more out of it. Also had one in a 308 norma and 7mm rem mag, which was the Kliengunthur version. They were gaurenteed to print a 1/2 inch group or better at 100 yards. All had an oil finish and a rosewood fore end tip and grip cap. Very nice rifles
 
Contact Prophet River firearms they may be able to help. I understand they bring guns into Canada that most of us can't get, simply because they have the proper import permits. Possibly they can send guns the other way as well.

Sounds about right, except they did come with gloss finish stocks too. I have one in 7mm RM and my friend has on in 7mm and in .300 WM (both gloss). They are excellent rifles and quite expensive when new - about $2000 in the mid 80's. They were later made and sold by Mauser as the Mauser 99 and then the Mauser 225.

Do a search for them on Gunsamerica and other such sites. You will see that they generally go for +$1000.
 
We sold them new in the mid 80's out of a shop in Saskatoon for $1200.00-1300 $ for the deluxe the oil finnished stock was a little less money. There is one caliber that is even more difficult to find and that is a 300 h+h I bought one at the time and hunted with for a few yrs then sold it .
